Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba has emphasized teamwork among police officers to ensure a smooth and secure 2026 electoral process.
The Inspector General was earlier meeting with Electoral Zonal Commanders, Regional Police Commanders, FFU Sector and Zonal Commanders, and Counter Terrorism Commanders at Police Headquarters in Naguru.
The Director of Operations, AIGP Frank Mwesigwa, presented the security master plan, which outlines strategies for securing the electoral process.
The IGP later presented a symbolic flag to the dean of Regional Police Commanders, ACP Saiga Ibrahim, symbolizing the trust and responsibility placed in them to lead personnel with honor, integrity, and distinction.
He urged officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, courage, and selflessness, noting that their leadership should inspire the field teams to achieve greatness and make the Uganda Police Force proud.
