Emotions and praise filled the air as officers gathered for the send-off ceremony of Commissioner of Police Richard Assedri Arumadri, the CP Finance, who officially bowed out of service yesterday after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60. The colorful ceremony was held at Skyz Hotel Naguru.

In a written tribute, the Inspector General of Police, Abas Byakagaba, expressed deep appreciation for CP Arumadri’s service to the Uganda Police Force.
“With humility and gratitude, I write to you on the occasion of your retirement from the Uganda Police Force as you bid farewell to a distinguished career spanning over 31 years,” the IGP noted.

He praised CP Arumadri for his exceptional leadership and stewardship as Commissioner of Finance, highlighting his effective guidance of the Finance Department, which includes the Accounts, Procurement, Internal Audit, and Human Resource sections. Arumadri’s expertise and dedication, he added, were instrumental in strengthening financial management within the institution.
“You consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of financial regulations, ensuring prudent management and upholding the highest standards. Throughout your tenure, you have been a beacon of professionalism, integrity, and dedication,” the IGP wrote.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, James Ocaya—who served as the chief guest—quoted Scripture as he paid tribute to CP Arumadri.
“As you enter this new season of life, I am reminded of Romans 15:13: ‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’ These words are not just a blessing; they reflect the life you have lived,” Ocaya said.
“You have been a vessel of hope, a source of peace, and an example of unwavering faith to all of us. May God fill the next chapter of your journey with rest, fulfillment, and a renewed sense of purpose.”

CP Arumadri joined the Uganda Police Force on 4th August 1994, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, alongside 26 others, including notable officers such as the current Deputy Inspector General of Police, James Ocaya; AIGP Erasmus Twaruhukwa; and SCP John Kamya, the Head of Doctrine and Curriculum Development, among others.
