UPL: Police Go Third with win against Buhimba Saint

• Police 4-0 Buhimba United Saints

Police FC ascended to the third position of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after a commanding 4-0 win against visiting Buhimba United Saints at the Kira Road Police Arena on Wednesday.

Denis Kalanzi, Umaru Kasumba, captain Saidi Kyeyune and substitute Derrick Maviiri scored a goal apiece as the Cops took their tally to 17 points, same as KCCA and SC Villa who occupy the first two places.

Kalanzi unlocked Buhimba’s resilience from a clinical rebound after goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba failed to deal with Lawrence Tezikya’s teasing cross with 28 minutes on the clock.

Kasumba doubled the advantage four minutes from the interval after being setup by speed merchant Obedi Brian James before placing the ball at the near post.

At 59 minutes, Kyeyune was well positioned to further the lead with a simple finish, making Kalanzi’s well weighed cross count. Kalanzi connected well with Tezikya in the buildup.

Substitute Maviiri then iced on the cake with a stunning shot benefiting from the donkey work of Emmanuel Mugume who outmuscled his marker from the left corner flag and laid a lowly driven pass struck home by the former Buhimba forward.

Saidi Kyeyune was voted the Man of the match.

The Cops who have now managed five wins, two draws and two losses from as many games will take their confrontation to Lugazi FC in Najjembe for matchday ten action on December 10th 2025.
