Police 1-1 Entebbe UPPC:
Striker Umaru Kasumba struck late to rescue a point for Police FC in a 1-1 draw against Entebbe UPPC in their penultimate Uganda Premier League match played at Kira Road Police Arena on Tuesday.
Police had struggled to break down the visitors for much of the game before Kasumba came to the rescue in the closing stages.
Against the run of play, the forward latched onto a through ball and raced towards goal before being brought down inside the area. Referee Asadu Ssemere pointed to the spot, and Kasumba calmly stepped up to convert past goalkeeper Denis Otim, sending the home fans into celebration.
Entebbe UPPC had taken the lead earlier in the first half through Ambrose Kigozi, who gave the visitors a narrow advantage heading into the break.
The match marked Police FC’s final home fixture of the season ahead of their closing league encounter away to Kitara FC at Royals Park in Hoima on Saturday.
The Cops remain seventh on the table with 46 points and will look to end the 2025/26 campaign on a positive note when the season concludes this weekend.
