CP Paul Nkore, Commissioner Political Education, has held a Baraza with officers at Mbale Police Barracks, providing a platform for them to openly discuss concerns and challenges affecting their welfare and work, as well as explore possible solutions.
During the engagement, officers were given an opportunity to speak freely about issues affecting them in the course of their duties and within the barracks. CP Nkore listened to their concerns and encouraged constructive dialogue as an important avenue for identifying and resolving internal challenges.
He appreciated the officers for being open and speaking their minds, adding that meaningful solutions can best be found when personnel freely raise issues through the appropriate channels.
CP Nkore urged the officers to remain disciplined, patriotic and professional in the execution of their duties, emphasizing that individual conduct contributes significantly to the image, effectiveness and public confidence in the Uganda Police Force.
He further encouraged officers facing challenges to make use of the established Police command and administrative structures to report their concerns to responsible officers for attention and possible resolution.
He noted that the Force has established internal mechanisms through which officers can raise welfare, administrative and professional concerns, and encouraged personnel to exhaust these channels rather than taking unresolved internal matters to the media.
The Baraza also provided an opportunity to strengthen communication between commanders and personnel, promote accountability and encourage collective responsibility in addressing issues affecting officers.
