This decline in crime rates can be attributed to the police force’s commitment to decentralizing services through the Sub-county Policing Model. This initiative aims to bring police services closer to the communities, enhancing crime prevention and response.
Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba expressed his gratitude to the public for lodging their complaints, which enabled the compilation of the Annual Crime Report. He emphasized the importance of improving the mindset and operational readiness of police personnel to perform their duties effectively.
This positive trend in crime reduction is a testament to the efforts of the Uganda Police Force and the community’s cooperation.
