Special Police Constable Peruth Chemutai has won silver at the World Youth Athletics Championship, under 20 category.
Chemutai brought home silver in 3000 meters steeple chase in which she finished second in Finland a fortnight ago.
Despite finishing second, Chemutai took just 9.06 to finish the race, compared to Dorcus Inzikuru’s 9.18, a record she set in 2008 at the World Senior Athletics Championship in Norway.
This means that Chemutai has brought down Inzikuru’s record that has been standing for the last ten years.
Chemutai was in Finland between July 10, 2018 and July 15, 2018.
