CP Kulayige Calls on Political Commissars to Be Proactive Problem-Solvers

Community Policing

Deputy Director, Chief Political Commissariat, Uganda Police, CP Hillary Kulayige, has urged Political Commissars (PCs) and Community Liaison Officers (CLOs) to be proactive problem-solvers and provide people-centred solutions to security challenges and crime in their respective areas.

CP Kulayige made the remarks this afternoon in Jinja during an orientation meeting for Political Commissars, Regional CLOs and District CLOs from Busoga Sub-region policing areas.

He called on the officers to uphold discipline, hard work and visibility, stressing that the knowledge shared during the orientation should be translated into practical action.

He emphasized that the Police, particularly CPC structures, have a critical role in preventing crime and addressing community concerns as Uganda works towards attaining middle-income status.

The officers were also taken through the roles and responsibilities of Political Commissars by SSP Dr. Grace Mutono, The Directing Staff, Police Senior Command and Staff College, Bwebajja.
