The D-IGP Godfrey Katsigazi has highlighted intelligence gathering, information sharing, intensifying operations, alertness, community policing and working with political leaders are some of the priority areas in effecting police roles, duties and responsibilities.
Maj.Gen Katsigazi made the remarks at an inter agency security meeting in Katonga region that took place at Mpigi district local Government headquarters.
The meeting discussed key security issues on terror threats, attacks and hacking of police officers, stealing of guns from security personnel, cattle theft to mention but a few.
In attendance were the heads of all Intelligence Components, of Police and UPDF, all RPCs from Katonga, Wamala, Great Masaka, and Savannah Regions, all the RISOs, RCIs, DPCs, DISOs, RCLOs, and Regional PRO’s
The DIGP pledged total support in all the activities, and reitariated calls for immediate operations against all acts of criminality. “You must work with the population to defeat crime”, he emphasized.
