We wish to inform all Ugandans and visitors in the country that the end of year and New Year celebrations, which were spread out in more than 5200 venues including 2616 fireworks displays were largely peaceful and joyful across the country
All venues enjoyed good music, parties celebrations, with dazzling fireworks displays in the country. There were no chaotic scenes or violent attack. It was a perfect end to the year 2023 and the best way to enter the year 2024. As the joint security agencies we continue to wish the public, an incredible and fulfilling year. May all your New Year resolutions come true.
The Joint Security Forces were particularly vigilant due to the robust security posture across the country. We effectively monitored our patrols on foot motorcycles vehicle and integrated from the national command centre in Naguru and it yielded great results.
As for the Joint Security Agencies, there is no rest, with the Parliamentary Conference and on coming summits of the NAM and G77 + China Summits, scheduled to take place from the 15th – 23rd January 2024, at the Common Wealth and Speke Resort Munyonyo.
The Inter-agency planning, preparation, evaluation and coordination efforts are regularly reviewed, to counter any threats and vulnerabilities during the month of January 2024.
