An explosion involving an unidentified object occurred on 17th March 2026 in St. Andrews Cell, South Central Ward, Industrial Division, Mbale City.
The incident took place at a scrap workshop, where four individuals were injured while offloading scrap metal from a vehicle. The injured persons were promptly evacuated to Mbale Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
A Police Bomb Squad team was dispatched to the scene to assess the situation. Fragments of the suspected explosive device were recovered and have been taken for detailed analysis and examination.
The public, particularly scrap dealers and collectors, is strongly advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or unfamiliar objects to security agencies to prevent similar incidents.
