The Uganda Police Force (UPF) women’s shooting team delivered an outstanding performance at the 18th Inter-Forces Games and Target Shooting Championship in Gulu, emerging overall winners in the combined Match One and Match Three events.
The Cops topped the standings with an impressive 933 points, ahead of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) with 764 points, Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) with 709 points, and Uganda Prisons Service (UPS) with 523 points.
UPF asserted its dominance by winning Gold in Match One with 469 points before adding another Gold in Match Three with 464 points, completing a commanding performance in the two events.
At individual level, Cpl Nakanjako Rose added to the Police medal haul after scoring 71 points to claim individual Gold, further demonstrating the team’s accuracy, composure and consistency at the shooting range.
The Police women continued their impressive run in the Falling Plates competition, winning Gold in the Female Officers’ Match Ten and Silver in the women’s Match Five.
The medals capped a formidable outing for the UPF women, who demonstrated precision, discipline, concentration, speed and tactical shooting skills throughout the championship.
The Target Shooting competition, held at the Gulu Military Air Force Base Shooting Range, brought together personnel from the Uganda Police Force, Uganda People’s Defence Forces, Uganda Prisons Service and Uganda Wildlife Authority, competing for points and honours across different shooting disciplines.
The championship forms part of the 18th Inter-Forces Games 2026, being held under the theme “Building Synergies Through Sports.” The Games provide a platform for the participating security forces to strengthen teamwork, cooperation, discipline and professional relationships through competitive sport.
