In a bid to promote road safety awareness and enhance safety among road users, the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety has extended its road safety awareness and sensitization campaigns to the Sipi Region and Busoga North.
The Directorate’s Liaison Officer and Spokesperson, SP Kananura Michael, together with a team of traffic officers, visited various schools and conducted sensitization workshops involving boda boda riders, truck drivers, taxi drivers and other road users. The team also held radio talk shows to further reach out to the public and raise awareness about road safety, responsible road use and measures to reduce road crashes.
As part of the campaign, the team distributed crash helmets donated by Vivo Energy Uganda to pupils, as well as road safety vouchers and stickers to road users. The activities are aimed at promoting compliance with traffic rules, encouraging responsible road use and contributing to the reduction of road crashes.
