The Police at Kabalagala is investigating an incident of the drowning of a 2-year old female Juvenile. The incident happened on Sunday 27th March 2022 at about 7pm, at Munyonyo Speke resort.
It is alleged that the deceased child who had gained access to the premises with her parents Nabawesi Florence and the father only identified as Micheal was left unattended too to be on her own and fell into a nearby Pond.
The incident was captured in the CCTV footage recovered from the premises. The child was rescued and given CPR by near first responders and later taken to Mulago Hospital for treatment, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Investigations into the incident are on and currently, it has been ascertained that there was some Negligence exhibited by the parents .
Parents are urged to always keep a close eye on their children while moving into new environments.
Investigations are ongoing and more communication will be done at an opportune time. We are also conveying our condolences to the bereaved family on the death of their child.
