AIGP Obwona Commissions Nakitoma Sub-county Police Station in Nakasongola

On 19th June 2026, the Inspector General of Police was represented by Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Obwona Joseph at the launch of Nakitoma Sub-county Police Station in Kafu, Nakasongora District.

AIGP Obwona delivered the IGP’s message, emphasizing that police services are being extended to the sub-county level, which forms the foundation for effective government service delivery and grassroots security.

He further noted that the construction of sub-county police stations is an ongoing initiative by the Uganda Police Force aimed at enhancing accessibility, strengthening community policing, and improving response to crime at the local level.

In collaboration with the local population, these efforts are intended to build trust, promote shared responsibility in maintaining law and order, and ensure safer communities across the country.

The function was attended by Senior officer from Uganda Police force and sister security agencies, District leaders and the wanaichi from Nakitoma sub county.
