Generally, the security situation within the country during the Christmas period was peaceful, with no serious security breaches apart from isolated incidents of criminality.
In the period under review, a total of 91Incidents/Reportable offenses were reported to police this year compared to 110 incidents registered last year 2023 reflecting a reduction in the incidents registered this by 19
Resulting from the total registered incidents countrywide, 55 lives were lost, 16 suspects were arrested and the cases are at different stages of investigation.
Out of the 55lives lost, 12 victims were assaulted to death, 03 were hacked to death, 02 drowned to death, 02 were lynched to death, 07 were hit using blunt objects, 06 were stabbed to death, 05 committed suicide, 02 were strangled to death, 08 were as a result of suspected sudden death, 04 lives were lost as a result of Rash and Negligent Acts, 01 was as a result of suspected food poisoning, 01 was as a result of suspected Arson while 02 lives were as a result of suspected murders.
