POLICE RECOVER SUSPECTED STOLEN MOTORCYCLES, ARREST THREE SUSPECTS IN OLD KAMPALA

Police at Old Kampala Division have arrested three suspects and recovered two suspected stolen motorcycles during an intelligence-led response in Muzana Zone, Kisenyi II Parish, Kampala Central Division.

The arrests followed information received from local leaders on the morning of 31st July 2026, indicating that a group of men was dismantling suspected stolen motorcycles within the area. A police team responded promptly, secured the scene, and arrested the suspects.

The recovered motorcycles include a TVS Star registration number UMA 427J and a red Bajaj motorcycle with no registration number. Police also recovered assorted motorcycle parts believed to have been removed from stolen motorcycles.

During the operation, a victim presented a case reference confirming that he had earlier reported the theft of his TVS Star motorcycle at Lungujja Police Station on 31st July 2026.

The suspects are currently in police custody at Old Kampala Police Division as investigations continue to establish the ownership of the recovered motorcycles and determine whether the suspects are linked to other cases of motorcycle theft.

Police urge members of the public to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious activities, and ensure they keep proper ownership documents for their motorcycles to aid identification and recovery in case of theft.
